Delete Your Data

Crime Map has no account to close — there is no email address, password or profile. Almost everything the App keeps is already on your own device.

Fastest Delete everything on your device

Uninstalling the App permanently removes everything it stored locally:

  • The counties you follow and your alert settings
  • Your anonymous ID, theme and all app preferences

To stop alerts for a single area without uninstalling: open Alerts (or Settings) and unfollow that county.

Server side Ask us to delete the rest

A small amount of data sits on our servers, tied only to your anonymous ID (so we can deliver the alerts you asked for). To have it deleted:

  1. Open the App and go to Settings → About → Customer ID. Tap it to copy the value.
  2. Email info@kovanapps.com with the subject “Delete my data” and paste that ID.
  3. We delete the records tied to it and confirm by reply, within 30 days.

If you have already uninstalled the App and no longer have the ID, tell us the approximate dates you used it and the store account’s country; we will do our best to locate and remove matching records.

Crime and severe-weather data shown in the App is public open data (city/county open-data portals and NOAA/NWS) and is not personal to you, so there is nothing there to delete.

Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the store: cancel in App Store → Subscriptions or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting data also removes the link between your device and an active subscription, so use Restore purchases if you reinstall later.
